Actually it was a jewish immigrant who opened the 1st fish & Chip shop in 1860 .in London.
Thank you for watching. That's an interesting fact. Are you from London? The history of the English breakfast is fascinating especially in regards to the industrial revolution.
@BigSmallTravel about 160 miles away in Derbyshire, pronounced Dar be sher, But I've worked and Lived around London in the Past , My heart and Soul is with the Midlands and North England 🏴.
@BigSmallTravel So I have Connections with the industrial Revolution, Which Started with Water power and Canals in the 18th century.
Was the fish and chip shop in London’s East End? In terms of history, the connection with this community goes back to even Roman Britain.
@@user-ze5tu4ck1t Thanks for answering, we need to see this part of England. I have heard of Derbyshire.
Get out of London and see real England 🇬🇧
Thanks for watching! Yes, it seems many agree with you that the real England is not in London anymore. Where are you located?
What is the weather like in Nov? what month was this filmed?
Thanks for watching! We were in Montecatini in late May and early June. The weather was a little cool but starting to get warm. Tuscan winters are chilly and rainy. November is a nice time to travel because there are less tourists around in general.
What a stupid name you are not in Scotland or Wales You are in England the bell is called Big Ben not or never was the tower called Big Ben
Yes.
Every time I see Americans eat with Knives and Forks 😂😂😂😂, 😮😂😂😂😂 🇬🇧🧐
Thanks for watching! Are you from the UK? What do you mean? I hope you enjoyed the British themed teddy bear at 1:41
@@BigSmallTravel I expect this comment is about the etiquette. The British table manners are very different from that of Americans. You will notice for example that the fork is placed on the left side of the plate and the knife on the right. You are expected to eat with the fork in the left hand and the knife in the right, throughout. Americans tend to use the fork in the right hand swapping it around when they need to use the knife. This is quite jarring to British table etiquette, especially in more formal surroundings. Here are some examples (there are many more): Start with Good Manners: - Wait until your host or hostess starts eating or indicates that you should do so. - Chew and swallow all the food in your mouth before taking more or having a drink. - Break bread and rolls with your fingers, not with your knife. - Soup should be spooned away from you, tilting the bowl away from you. Use Utensils Properly: - Hold the fork in your left hand and the knife in your right. - The fork is primarily used for eating most of your food, while the knife is for cutting meat or supporting food. - Never hold both utensils in one hand. - place both utensils together on the plate when finished eating Serviettes, Crockery, and Cutlery: - Place your serviette (napkin) on your lap. If it’s small, you may open it out fully; if large, fold it in half with the fold toward you. - When finished eating, place soup spoons, coffee spoons, and dessert spoons on the side plate or saucer, never in the bowl or cup. - Avoid pushing your plate away or stacking dishes.
@@graeradt Thank for the detailed explanation, we appreciate it for sure. The casual nature and relationship that most Americans have with food definitely plays a part in forming the way we as Americans even view or utilize cutlery. Are you from London?
The Elizabeth Tower was never called Big Ben, as Big Ben is a bell. Its the largest bell in the tower, the one that strikes the hour. I believe the tower was previously called St. Steven's Tower.
Thanks for watching of course, we appreciate it. Our point is that Big Ben was the nickname for the Great Bell of the Great Clock of Westminster, and, by extension, for the clock tower itself. Are you in the UK?

@@BigSmallTravelwhen eating the breakfast ( in fact all meals ) use the knife and fork all the times but keep the knife in your preferred hand in the right hand if you're right handed , left handed in the left. When eating use the forks ( tangs ) facing down and like all meals put more than one type of food on the forks this will enhance the taste , of course the tangs are face down just like in all meals

What is the main train station? I believe there are two in town? A realtor suggested we put this town on our 'visit' list when we are in Florence this fall. She believes it's a great location if we want to be between Lucca and Florence.
Thanks for watching! When are you visiting Montecatini? We stayed near Montecatini Centro. This station is the smaller train station. Yes, there are two train stations in town, Montecatini Terme and Montecatini Centro It is definitely a great location to be for easy access to both Lucca and Florence. We were staying near the Centro station and honestly, it was probably our least favorite thing about the town! It is tiny and the machines never worked. The Terme station is bigger and probably better to use. That said, the trains were usually timely and when we had to take a bus during a train strike it was a smooth process. We would definitely put this town on your “visit” list and we recommend walking around all the different areas, especially north of the center and around Parco delle Terme. Enjoy your trip to Tuscany and let us know what you think of Montecatini! and is situated close to the centre of the town, just a 2 minute walk to Piazza del Popolo.
it used to be in a different place maybe 200 meters away from where it is now,it was a smaller place and when we were like 16-17 back in 99 - 2000,we would always make a stop near it when on weekend just to drink some bear and listen to DM.
Thank you for the information. I really appreciate getting information like this. By the way, I thought Tallinn was one of the nicest capitals in northern Europe. Do you live in Tallinn? We are Americans based in Italy.

@@lynndowd480 No problem at all. It is nice to offer and share what we did in this town or any town we enjoy especially in Italy. Are you often visiting or staying in Italy?
WHEN IS ABOUT THE NAME, YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT THE NAME OF THE COUNTRY IS REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA AND THERE'S NO ANOTHER COUNTRY IN THE WORLD CALLED MACEDONIA! YOU SHOULD KNOW A BIT OF HISTORY ABOUT THE MACEDONIA AND THE COUNTRY WHAT YOU VISITING. THE ETHNIC MACEDONIA WAS DIVIDED BY THE SURROUNDING COUNTRIES IN 1912/1913 AND GREECE MANAGED TO GRAB THE BIGGEST PIECE FROM MACEDONIA DUE TO THE BIG BRITISH AND FRENCH SUPPORT. UNTIL 1991 WHEN MACEDONIA DECLARED INDEPENDENCE FROM EX YU, THE NORTHERN PART OF GREECE WAS CALLED NORTHERN GREECE NOT MACEDONIA BUT AFTER 1991 THE GREEKS DECIDED TO RENAME THE REGION (THEIR OCCUPIED PROVINCE) FROM NORTHERN GREECE INTO MACEDONIA FROM POLITICAL REASONS. MACEDONIA IN THE ANCIENT TIMES WASN'T GREEK BUT VISA VERSA, ANCIENT GREECE WAS CONQUERED BY ALEXANDER OF MACEDON IN 338BC. HOWEVER, ADDING THE SUFIX "NORTH" TO MACEDONIA, IS A RESULT OF THE DENIAL OF THE INTERNATIONAL LAW, WHERE THE BIGGER COUNTRIES ARE IMPOSING THEIR INTERESTS ON THE SMALLER COUNTRIES FOR THE SAKE OF THEIR ARROGANCE AND VANITY. IF U R BRITISH THAT'S MAYBE STRANGE AND WIERD FOR YOU, BUT FACT IS THAT WE LIVE IN A WORLD WITHOUT INTERNATIONAL JUSTICE.
Thanks for watching and we appreciate the historical context you provide of the name as well. We spoke to a Macedonian as you can see at 6:05 and she explains about the name change. Do you disagree with this local from Skopje?
@@BigSmallTravel the girl obviously spoke some basic English and couldn't explain everything what she meant and felt. It wasn't a recommendation certainly. NATO decided to accept Macedonia as a NATO member but didn't know how to solve the problem with Greece. Obviously was easier to humiliate one small country rather their member state. The referendum for implementing the suffix "north" wasn't successful and despite that, the government imposed that suffix as a part of the name in the constitution, illegally with blackmail of certain MP's to vote. The time will show up how long this suffix will remain as a part of the name of the country.
Your videos obviously don't have any likes. Seems to me it's more insulting than respectful. When you go to Rome, do you speak about the many statues there? You have statues in every country in the world, something what Skopje was missing after the catastrophic earthquake. Learn how to pronounce the name of the city which is Skopje (Skopye) not Skope! The river doesn't divide the city on ethnic grounds and there're certain Albanian population in the old bazar because the Albanians are mostly selling vegetables on the market. Foreign flags you can find in other countries too, why is so weird to see Albanian flags? Skopje is among the most polluted cities in Europe during winter but certainly isn't on the top of that list.
Thanks for the comments again. Your observations are appreciated very much. First, we really enjoyed the people of Skopje, they were very kind and helpful to us. Also, we liked our time there very much. So, we discuss the Albanian flags because we saw so many hanging in various parts of town. We would expect to see the flag of Macedonia more ... We met a few locals from Skopje who thought the river divides but again it is an opinion of course not a fact. Are you from Skopje? Pronunciation is difficult in Macedonian so forgive us ... Lastly, we speak to more locals in the video at 13:40
@@BigSmallTravel Albanian flags you can see mostly on the big market where they sell them but also Macedonian and Turkish flags. Macedonian flags you can see everywhere on the public institutions, main squares. During public holidays you can see Albanian flags alongs side with the Macedonian flag only in the municipalities where the Mayor is from Albanian origin. Since the big market is part of such municipality, that's why you can see them. The main square Macedonia is part of the western side of the river and is mostly with Macedonian population and the market is on the eastern side of the river, but the eastern part of the country is mostly with Macedonian population. The major Albanian population is on the northern part of the city and the northwestern part of the country. How's possible the river to divide the city and the country by ethnicity? It can be an opinion on shallow minds only. Maybe it's just my personal feeling, but I think that your video is more with intention to diminish the value of the city. Again, have in mind, that people in Macedonia don't like to call their country North Macedonia especially when you emphasize that "north"! I already explained to you in another message how and why that "north" was attached to the name Macedonia. If you like to get more LIKES from the locals of the country what you visit, try to avoid mentioning things what they don't like to hear or pin their ears and eyes. All best!
